The Most Expensive $19 Million Toilet At Nasa

When we are talking of the hi-tech toilets and bathroom products how can one miss out the toilet at NASA. One of the most expensive toilets of the world, NASA shelled out $19 million for the toilet that works at zero gravity in the space and not only that; it also recycles the urine into potable water. The astronauts have to face the zero gravity scenario in space hence the toilets have been designed such that they work on vacuums and suction for waste disposal rather than the gravity that plays a major role in drainage in the normal toilets and urinals. The $19million toilet creates a zero gravity experience to let the astronauts get accustomed to using the toilets in space.

There are so many pipes and functions and vacuum and suction; Phew!! Never knew going to the loo could be that complicated. The cubicles are covered by curtains and that doesn’t provide a lot of privacy!! That’s worth losing if you are bartering it with a space trip. Well yes there are separate attachments for the solid waste and urine. While urine is recycled the solid wastes goes in a container. The WCs containers are removed when back on earth and disposed off, cleaned, disinfected and fitted back into the toilet.
